He did okay. 2 girls got 1/2 day suspensions for talking out and the boy he had a conflict with last month flew into a screaming rage at a girl, not sure what came of that...
DS stayed out of the fray and got through the day. He says he is comfortable going tomorrow but really hates it there.

Hope your DS is okay. Did he pull a muscle?

I am so proud of my DDs for playing so beautifully at DFil's funeral - it was a very lovely service in fact.

I am so worried about my (((((((((((((((((DD18)))))))))))))))))) who has been under the weather since last Thurs, just as she has so many important deadlines coming up, all she wants to do is sleep but still has to keep churning out essays - and her tutors don't sound sympathetic in the least. I may phone in to college tomorrow - unheard of!!

I've been feeling queasy this afternoon - got back from the "wake" and just curled up with a hot water bottle and slept - hope it's not what she has had.

We all attempt a return to "normal" tomorrow - DH to work after a week off, DKs to school (day off today), me to work too - but I'd rather coddle my children!

Supermama, nearly there!

(It's funny not being recognised - new hair, new me! - at least until it rains or I wash it!)

everyone else will (hopefully) still be around when I next get a chance to chat, so you'll have to wait for your individual replies tiil then!

I just so wish I didn't cry every time I have to talk to people!!! I just phoned in to college about DD18, I wanted to speak to her tutor, they suggested I emailed the tutor, so I did, and then phoned back to say that I had, so they could let her know there was a message waiting for her - but went all wobbly on the phone to the receptionsist so she probably thinks it's some urgent disaster!! I invariably dissolve rather than stand firm in situations where I feel strongly, maybe that's why I avoid confrontation, it avoids me embarrassing myself! Some tips please, all you strong coffee-shop women!!!

I seem to have got over the "squeaky tummy" (still tired though) and have come in to work - it's my quiet day, one lesson at the beginnig and the end of the day. This free hour I can sit in peace here, the other 2 free hours the room is used by another class so although I can be in here it's not so conducive to work!

Morning!!!

(((fun)) I get emotional too but just push through. I dont really care what others think ( now, have learned this).

Have a good day, AF!

We awoke to the blaring alarm on the sump pump going off, supposedly meaning the basement was flooding. No flooding, the hole is full of water. I touched the pump float and it ran. No idea whats up?????? The kids are back in bed.

Enjoying coffee.

Goodmorning ladies- it's another sunny day around here.Just seems so nice to have sunshine. Whew- what a relief to know that all I have left to do for tax lady is to print out copy of info, fill in blanks and drop it off to her. Now I can get at some of those other huge todos. As soon as I finish that blooming room I'm dejunking I've got to do some major paper purging. Guess I'd better make sure I start doing a bit nowadays.

((((Fun))))- I have a hard time too, I can talk about it beforehand, say I'll be firm and mean business, but then when it comes right down to it -many times I wimp out. I really don't like that and don't seeem to be able to handle it better.

AF- have a good one at work. Hope Nathan isn't too bad

Mom- no idea about Alice ,would depend on your daughter . I haven't seen it -maybe somebody who has can tell you.

Supermama- wow, it's getting really close. Hope the rest of the time berfore your trip goes really fast .

Mom, I had one of my students tell me about the movie yesterday. She said it was awesome. But that doesn't mean it won't be overwhelming for your DD.

I'm up sipping my cuppa.

Fun, my day looks like yours today as well! An hour in the morning, then the last hour in the afternoon. The rest of the day the class is out for other activities. I'm going to get the rest of these report cards all finished up. :D

I'm hoping this morning isn't to overwhelming. I'm going to let the kids rearrange the room and see how they would put their desks. It's been an ongoing battle all year (talking, arguing, etc.) I asked my mentor teacher what he would do. He said this is a difficult class. But they've been together long enough to understand who they can behave by and who is not a good match. So I would take an hour, have a quick class discussion about the expectations, then let them arrange it. Give them the entire room. That way if someone feels they need to sit by themselves, they can. See how it goes. You may be surprised.
So, I'm trying it. Scary

What do you think of these expectations to put on the board and discuss......
...I have to be able to walk around and reach everyone easily
...sit by someone you can get along with, but won't talk to much with
...you have to be able to clearly see the boards in the front and the back
...I have to be able to access my table and desk easily
...the lockers, cupboards, and fire exit may not be blocked
...the projector table may not be moved

Well. That was interesting. I'm going to make a couple of changes, but very minimal. We did have to much noise at one point. But that was really my own fault, and I will go talk to the teacher that was disturbed during recess to make amends. There are a couple of pairs that I question, but I'll leave it for now. We'll see how the week goes.

I'm off to edit report cards!

Supermama - I am so happy for you to be able to get away for a while. You certainly deserve it! I'll miss you.

ducky - Letting the kids decide how to arrange the room is a great idea. I hope it works out well for you.

Mom - Sorry you are still struggling with DD in the morning. Good for you for sticking to the consequences!

cc - WTG on getting that tax stuff done! I already got my return. It took just a week after e-filing.

(((((funmum))))) (((((AFlyer)))))

Peanut is glued to the TV today. Since we got a digital cable box yesterday we have more children's channels. He is really enjoying the new shows. We ran out this morning to the natural health store and to recycling. I have made cookies and cleaned that all up. Bed has been stripped and remade with clean sheets. Dirty sheets are in the wash. Pillows are in the dryer. I also went outside and filled in some holes that the dogs have dug. I am waiting on the cable guy to come back because he needed a part that he didn't have on the truck. He said if he doesn't get to it during working hours that he will come after he is done. He lives a few minutes from here.

Peanut's birthday is this weekend and I still have no idea what we will get him. We are having DH's family over. I ordered a croissant sandwich tray and DH will make deviled eggs. I will make baked beans and we will have chips and fruit. I will have to make and decorate his cake on Friday. He also has an appointment with the speech therapist on Friday to be evaluated. I have asked DNiece if she will babysit so we can shop for his gift, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. I will have to call her after she gets home from school.
