KitKat WTG getting back to the stairs and plank!
Gma, well stated! I wore an "I voted" sticker at work yesterday, and had an opportunity to talk to a student about it (high school). She didn't see what the big deal was, and talked about politics just creating conflict between people. We had a chance to get to know each other better because of the sticker. :)

Nov 1. Not much that I remember.
Nov 2. walking/late night dancing. Plenty of exercise.
Nov 3. 2+ miles walking
Nov 4. 9,700 steps, 9 floors, 54 "active minutes". I did leg stretches but not the full stretch and exercise routine I should for the PF.
Nov 5. 15,004 steps, 11 floors, 39 "active minutes". I did one round of PF stretches and exercises.
Nov 6. 10,500 steps, 14 floors. I didn't do my foot exercises.
Nov 7. Unsure about steps, didn't have the monitor on. Did NOT take care of my feet. Wt still up at 25.3 BMI.

I'm a little worried about my nighttime binge eating, as well as my lack of motivation for my foot exercises...I'm in a little bit of a funk, I guess. It will get better.

Gratitude-for the end of daylight savings time. I'm enjoying an "earlier" dawn.

Gma, raking is WORK!
kitkat, life does have a tendency to do that, doesn't it?

Nov 8. 10,500 steps, 9 floors, 34 active minutes. One round of foot exercises. (Yay, broke my no foot exercise streak!)

I have a calorie intake plan for today. This is not something that I enjoy, but I am seriously concerned about the effect these extra xxx lbs will have on my joints.

I'm now 41. My feet have issues and my knee felt funny yesterday. My mom has had a knee replacement and lives with chronic pain, at least partially due to being about 40 lbs overweight most of her life. Arthritis and other chronic pain issues run in my family. I really don't want that to be my future. I already tend toward depression, chronic pain isn't going to help. Wish me luck!

ok, I'll admit to being a bit crazy

I found out that my lawnmower had not been run dry while I was gone. So yesterday i brought it inot my kitchen to warm up, then took it back out this morning. 8 pulls to start! Instead of letting it just sit on the driveway to run, I walked it around my yard to "mow" mostly to cut up leaves instead of just sitting. Add to that normal scenario - it snowed 1/2 inch yesterday, so I appeared to be snow-bllowing my yard. And I was cold when I came in , so I called Time and Temp: 16 degrees Fahrenheit. No wonder I was cold!

Half the day is done, and I am at 5000 steps.

KimmyAnn - exercise is helpful for depression as well... Be kind to your knees... I'm sure you know that. :)
Great numbers this week. Maybe switch between different exercises? A little yoga perhaps?

Wow Gma - like I said, we never need to worry about you not moving... :D

November 1 - Over 5,000 steps, 10 min. spin bike (with push ups), 40 sec high plank
Nov. 2 - 5,500 steps (+), I did stairs : 10 X 18 up and down, followed by 1 min. high plank. (Unfortunately, our weather is really rainy)
Nov. 3 - 6,000 steps + . 11X18 stairs up and down, plus 1 min. high plank.

Nov. 6 - 12,000 steps
Nov. 7 - 10,000 steps (track), 13X18 stairs plus 90 sec high plank
Nov. 8 - 7,200 steps - no exercise (life got in the way)
Nov. 9 - 7,000 steps - just plain tired...

Well done ya'll !
I have kept up my new normal. !2,000+ steps per day average. I will live with it for this week. Better to maintain than to start sliding down that slippery slope of not doing .

Kimmy, for me "on the road" just means that is really the only place I have to walk more than the amount I am now doing without risking wearing grooves in the wood floors.

Very impressive ALL OF YOU!
my numbers don't look nearly so great - I forget to move my fitbit from one pair of jeans to another. OH I Hope I didn't leave it in the pocket of my bluejeans that just went into the wash at mother's house!
But i did spend almost 2 hrs outside with her leaves today - in temps around 18-22. I think I am done, unless the city isn't able to use their vacuum truck to get the leaves that the volunteers brought to the curb a week ago. If they are frozen too hard, I will have to shovel them into my big tub/bucket/ multi bushel containers and haul them myself.
I did have a wonderful day - spent the afternoon with MrVKM at a fun (pre) Christmas play done by local university - put on now because of their semester timetable- Then we went to supper, and brought 1/2 of mine home to mother and had a nice visit with her as well. So tjhat's my gratitude for the day. :D

I do NOT understand a new nasty trend I have seen in myself. As soon as I decide I am happy with a step forward I have made, I don't achieve it the next day. Only 8960 steps yesterday. :x
I am grateful I am flexible so I can say ' that was my day off this week' and start over today when I would normally be taking the day off.
Since I have not been able to make myself start an actual floor exercise routine yet, I am going to start adding weight to my walking ( until it bothers my right knee if it does ). I have a vest with pockets big enough for the smaller discs Ds30 has for his weight set. So I can start with a 10 pounder in each pocket. Meanwhile I will start looking for used weight sets at yard sales etc.

Gma, you continue to amaze me with the step counts you do log when you don't wear your Fitbit or Omron for half the day or end up doing fairly intensive labor that does not record as steps ! WTG

Kit I have 2 Leslie Sansone discs ( Dsis gave them to me ). I have not bothered to turn on the TV and rev up the DVD player. I assume they are walking 'in place' ? Please correct me if I am wrong ( as assumptions often are! ) Marvelous progress you are showing !!!

edium - I know you are strong but I would still go with less than 10 lbs per pocket to start... Just a thought. You can always add on gradually...
As for backing off after signs of success? We all seem to have little rebels inside us...
As soon as I said I'd be doing stairs in increasing amounts, the little rebel said, 'time to change: try something else'.
You are doing great!

Leslie's discs kept me moving when I was taking care of dmom and gym was not an option on a regular basis. Yes, it's mostly walking or jogging in place,
some side steps, kicks, forward jogs, backward jogs - with/without weights or with bands (like theraband). It's upbeat and perfect for days when it's too cold/wet/snowy outside.

today I am thankful for Smile*lee, for sending me some bread pans she was no longer using. I used them for several loaves of bread last winter. they have been on vacation for teh summer, but today they go back into their working season!
And I am grateful that my fitbit seems to be waterproof - it survived its trip through the washing machine!
5 loaves of bread are ready to go into pans, then I will walk while it is rising and getting ready for the oven.

Nice gratitude Gma ! Good exercise too ! Kneading and stirring and bending over the oven and dealing with the heat of the kitchen... WTG!

Looks like Super Kit is well on the way to being back ! Hooray !!!

Okay, so I will let wiser heads prevail. I will use 2 1/2 lb. in each pocket for now. I will look for more weight discs. I will use full 15 lb per dumbbell for some reps to work on arm and upper back strength. Don't like the way it has been declining this last year.
I have always been strong enough and flexible enough to do as I wish without thinking about it. I have also lived an outdoorsy active lifestyle as daily needful activities. Very grateful for that ! And finally realizing it instead of taking it for granted and wondering why everyone who isn't sick or disabled isn't the same way.  I am so clueless sometimes ! And have been very Blessed all the time !

Kitkat, are you recovering from an injury?
Edium, nice gratitude. We all do the relapse dance with behavior change. Frustrating, isn't it? But you have this in the bag. Keep up the good work!
Gma, WTG, good farm wife! Baking bread is about as wholesome an activity as can be done.

As for me, I haven't worn the fitbit for the past few days. Took it off to charge and that was the end of that. I'm putting it back on now.

Update: I plugged my fitbit in near the stove, and it looks like it's had heat damage. So sad, it was new to me and in very good condition, now the rubber is bubbling up around the screen area. Darn!

oh, kimmy, so sory to hear about fitbit! I have lost - and refound months later - mine. And sent it through the washer. Now it needs to be charged - and it is at mother's and my charger is at my house. This will be the first charging since it came out of the washer, so I hope it works! Maybe your s will work even with a (slightly I hpoe) damagaed face?

edium, better to start lower than you expect and not hurt yourself, then gradually build up. I have discovered that the FIRST time I lift weights, I can do more than I can 2 days later - I guess I use up muscle cells or something. Find what you can do with moderate effort 10 times, and gradually build from there. If you reach the end of your ability before 6 reps, you are doing too much, if you can do 12 easily, you need to increase weights.

I actually ended up making 8 loaves of bread! I had 5 done; they looked beautiful and smelled delicious. But all were spoken for, so I couldn't even taste one slice. So I just HAD to go get more yeast and make a smaller batch - 3 loaves- so I could have some. Went to bed around 2am that night
My mom has a perm this afternoon, I hope to walk then -

Gma, good luck with the fitbit. Mine still works, but it looks bad. It has a huge bubble in the rubber near the face.

Nov 1. Not much that I remember.
Nov 2. walking/late night dancing. Plenty of exercise.
Nov 3. 2+ miles walking

Nov 9. 17,000 steps, 17 floors, 46 active minutes. I taught CPR. I also think that it registers my "hand talking" when I present, though....
Nov 10.-12 Didn't wear fitbit
Nov 13th. Over 11,300, 4 floors, 38 active minutes. Only stretches, no exercises.

I jogged 3 miles yesterday.

I probably won't exercise today with payroll and hosting the Th. dinner crew tonight - and a forecast of 3-5 inches of the white stuff. However, I might jog or go to the gym tomorrow, though I usually keep Friday as a rest day. Saturday is my day to jog longer. Since my "long" jogs aren't very long anymore, I think a Friday jog won't greatly affect a longer effort on Saturday. Or, I may choose to make Saturday a regular jog.

Three miles is great, helian! WTG! Gma, you don't seem too bothered about the fitbit!

Nov 1. Not much that I remember.
Nov 2. walking/late night dancing. Plenty of exercise.
Nov 3. 2+ miles walking
Nov 4. 9,700 steps, 9 floors, 54 "active minutes". I did leg stretches but not the full stretch and exercise routine I should for the PF.

Nov 8. 10,500 steps, 9 floors, 34 active minutes. One round of foot exercises. (Yay, broke my no foot exercise streak!)
Nov 9. 17,000 steps, 17 floors, 46 active minutes. I taught CPR. I also think that it registers my "hand talking" when I present, though....
Nov 10.-12 Didn't wear fitbit
Nov 13th. Over 11,300, 4 floors, 38 active minutes. Only stretches, no exercises.
Nov 14th. 9,800 steps. Pretty ok for a driving day. 7 floors, 16 "active minutes".

I've got the itchy feet of a midlife crisis. Keep looking for new excitements. I really don't like the feeling at all, even though it's sort of thrilling. I'd rather be happy right where I'm at than chase down the next great thing. Definitely going to be taking this problem to The Big Guy. It has given me a built in walk this morning, though, since I had 2 drinks and had to leave my car downtown last night.

WTG getting a jog in with your life schedule as it is now, Helian. 8)

LOL with the built in walk Kimmy !

Gma I don't know how you keep up with your Fitbit since anyway you keep it in a pocket. I have to have mine attached, just like my head to my shoulders.

I'm bouncing around with the numbers this week. Gratitude is that though the consistency seems to have gone my weight is down one more pound while my reps with weights and my 'average' for steps are up! 8)

usally I have my fitbit on my bra strap. but sometimes it is in my pocket. And I change slacks.

Yesterday I did 45 minute walk at city indoor track.
today it is (finally) above freezing - for afew hrs anyhow - so I am going to try to get some lights and other decor up at mother's - but have pick her up at dentist when she is done, then set my phone for 2pm to get ready to take dog to vet for "health certificate" before getting on the plane on Monday.
So much to do. Walking around the yard in the cold wil be my exercise today.
this is the warmest it will be before we leave.

my fitbit isn't holding a charge. don't konw if it can have a new battery or if it has to be replaced completely.

travelling again! YES!
My bday is on TG day. 6 yrs ago we planned to all be together on my TG bday - my siblings and mother on my bday at my dsis3 house. But Mother got whooping cough.
So this year we are trying again - my dsis3 is first TG in their new house, so it is extra special.
My son and his family cannot join us - they do not have enough time off from work available. They will spend TG at the cabin tho - Mom and I did htat one year and it was a fun thing to do.

Got some CMas outdoor decorating done - that would be lots of steps. and climbing ladder.
