BLEH... I stopped by the knitting shop. Yes, a mistake. DUH. Put the marker on the needle itself (circular needles). I had my increases all in different places. I felt DUMB, but as they said, "it's your first sweater, HOW WOULD you know!"
I went for my hand doctor appointment today. . Yes, my hands are better, but not well. We agreed that a cortisone shot in my left (non-dominant) hand might be an idea as I'd thought it would be better by now.
Hubby went and got SIL when she asked him to. They were trying to get her into a nursing home, but she'd have to agree?! SO, she's back here BUT on medicines, and BETTER. You can actually converse with her! I've just been busy, and just with normal type stuff, but frustrated that there's been no time for me to quilt. :x Going to try to clean up the room in here, and THEN I'm going to do some fun stuff!

Projects:
"N"'s quilt:]Need to cut it out still
Do some needed things around the house!(HA HA, need to clean cupboards AND refrigerator) Cleaned out refrigerator!
Work on Summer weight crochet sweater for ME-
"Easy?" knit sweater with big gauge variegated yarn-ripped out and restarted AGAIN-on row 7 -got to row 10. Need to start again. I guess I'm learning ...

Loki, well done on all you're doing! I have finally knitted the first row of slipper number 2. Number 1 is patiently waiting to be sewn up and to meet its partner.

Gilli keep at it they will eventually get finished! Gili check out the KAL as well it is on Rowan Yarn website - at least the list of what you need and sort of a picture of the blocks.

MCL are you back knitting or working on your quilts! Kaffe Facette has a afghan KAL starting the end of March. Love his use of colors just not sure if this one will be bright! I am into bright these days - doesn't match anything I have but that is okay! Found a really simple afghan on revelry that I am going to do. Oops guess I have to wait until I am all caught up. I did order another skein for socks just loved the color!

Nannika how is it going?

I am being very un productive - third the way through the other knee sock - started the sleeve and ripped it out but I do love the way it is going to look.

Loki, what KAL are you referring to? Thanks for your words of encouragement.

I'd like to knit a neck scarf - can anyone recommend a pattern? Also a tea cosy, but I have a pattern for that. I might even knit a couple.

Hi Gilli if you go on the knit rowan site they have a list of the yarn needed for the Kaffe Fassett KAL - but also if you go to fibre wild.com they have a picture of the finished blanket. I did break down and buy the yarn ( wool warehouse ). Now to get my mojo back. I have slacked off this week and done nothing. Check revelry for a scarf pattern there is tons there also check out drops - they have tons of patterns as well. Happy knitting - I still need to do a tea cosy.

Hi, All! I DID do one creative thing. My DNiece & her DBF came to do some drywall work and painting. I re-stenciled the bathroom cabinet. Hubby says it looks like Van Gogh. I hope he means because there is a grey bird on one of the panels. :P

MCL I wish I had your talent. I can not paint wish I could. My goal once I get home is to repaint the house (hasn't been painted inside in 15 years at least - my youngest was in grade 3 she is now 27) - but then with all DD's furniture and boxes in there I am not sure how far I will get! How is your sweater going?

Nannika what have you finished now! How do you set up your goals so they are practical. I seem to get these crazy ideas of what I can accomplish then I burn out.

Gilli how is the second slipper doing?

Broke down and ordered the wool for the Kaffe Fassett blanket. Here is hoping I didn't bite off more than I can do but it is a 'block a week' project. Hopefully the wool will be in by the time I get home and I can stay on top of it. Really gave myself a lecture this morning about buying projects to do. I am seriously not buying anything more unless it is to finish a project. Really need to clean out all these projects so I can buy one project and then do i,t not stack it on the shelf. Sorry about the ranting but maybe if I do then I won't buy! Going to go back to posting daily - maybe then I will accomplish something. Fingers crossed.

have a great day!

( ◠‿◠)

Question for all the sewing ladies. I have a sewing machine that's 38 years old. It's been
used - maybe 20 times. I'm pretty sure I'm never going to use it again. I hand sew simple things,
but take more complicated alterations to a professional tailor to do.

At almost 40 years old, is it worth it to try and find someone who might want it - or just pitch it?

Thanks!

Loki, this will be brief as I am about to go to bed for an early night for a change.

I found a picture of that Kaffe Fassett blanket. I just thought, 'Oh, my! It's a beautiful pattern, but I would never be able to keep up with the KAL, especially if I have to buy a kit.

I have completed about 16 rows of the second slipper - about half way to the first decrease.

Hi, All! I'm cautiously cutting out a quilt pattern for my DF's son. My hands/wrists are better. Hurray! I managed it. I was concerned about this step as being the most painful, but I managed it
Loki, I used a stencil, so it's not hard, but it didn't come out as well as I'd have liked. OH Well. I can try later. I HAVE done lots of painting of houses, but my Niece did the bathroom and did a Wonderful job

UGH. Had to get another cortisone shot in my right hand. I DID find some rehab exercises online, tho.
I'm thinking I may not get much in this week on the quilt. I need to take hubby in to the hosptial where the back surgeon has privileges. Unless something else is wrong with him, chances are that he will have back surgery pretty quickly. I'll take my sweater and try to do a few rows to distract me...

Glad your hands/wrists are better, MCL. There'll be no stopping you now lol.

Hope you get your mojo back, Nannika and Loki!

I have finished one side of the mini Christmas tree and almost reached the first decreases in my second slipper.

On the lookout for a nice tea cosy pattern and yarn for same.
