Butter on counter????

Post by ~!bensgal!~ » Sun May 27, 2012 3:20 pm

Another question I read on some board that they sit their butter out on the counter, and dont refrigerate it. Does anyone do that?? We have always kept ours in the refrig, yes it is hard to spread on toast but I have never heard of leaving it out in a butter dish on the counter for soft butter???? IF so how long is it good that way:)

I have a butter dish on the counter with one or two sticks of butter in it. It is covered, so no animals or bugs can get to it. I've never had the butter go bad (we go through it pretty quickly). I have had the dish mold after a couple of weeks of not being washed.

I use a butter crock, or butter bell...the butter stays in the bell area, then you put cold water in the holder every couple of days to keep the butter fresh...I love it!
