Breakfast recipes without pork

Post by AngelHeartedMom » Mon Jan 24, 2011 5:49 am

I am unable to eat pork. I've had minimal luck finding beef breakfast sausage. Have tried Little Smokies Beef sausages. Don't really care for the texture of turkey sausage. I am looking for breakfast casseroles with chicken, grilled or shredded, or even beef smoked sausage. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is a link to my blog post about super easy quiche. My family loves it for breakfast (or any meal). You can use any kind of meat you want in it! :D

I also find myself ill if I eat pork lately. I understand your issue!

Have you tried the fake meat crumbles? They make a sausage flavored one that is quite good. My daughter is a vegetarian, and I used this when she came to visit. Morning Star is the brand I used.

Can you give me a good recipe for home-made chocolate chip cookies? A friend owes me a dozen home-made chocolate chip cookies because the Padres will win their series against the Cardinals this week. I want a REALLY good recipe.

Ok, we'll continue the cookie thread here for a bit...see if she comes back to the boards LOL

For chocolate chip cookies, one of the secrets is to have the butter at the correct temp. If it is too soft, your cookies won't set up, and if it is too cold, then it doesn't mix with the sugar well. The other thing is the brown/white sugar ratio. The more white sugar you use, the crisper the cookies are, the more brown sugar, the softer the cookies are.

Now, AF, you want to go practice all this, then you can ship them to me for a taste test

lol will do! i use margarine instead of butter so do you think that makes a difference? my cookies usually are flat and chewy but not in a good way and then they get hard as they get older.
